"Professionals helping Professionals, Boat Owners and Homeowners since 1994"
We have switched our DRINKING WATER SYSTEM COMPONENTS ANSI/NSF STANDARD 61 epoxy from NSP 120 - tm -(which required a min tank size of 800 gallons) to LiquaTile 1172 - tm - epoxy paint for potable water applications.
LiquaTile 1172 is part of the LATEST GENERATION of new potable water epoxy formulations that only require a min tank size of 50 gallons (this is almost revolutionary - regular potable water epoxies generally needed tanks at least 1000 - or even 6000 - gallons for certification).
Note that many sellers of potable water coatings, especially those on the Internet, don't tell you that the Potable Water Certification is only valid for water tanks over 800 or 1,000 gallons (except maybe in some Fine Print document).
There is no Standard 61 Potable Water Certification for tanks of any random size.
If your vendor lets you assume their product is approved for all tanks, find a more honest supplier that provides full disclosure about their products and any certifications associated with those products.
